Miyasato Corp acquires license to supply Diamon-FusionŽ nanocoating in South America

SAN CLEMENTE, August 2004- Diamon-Fusion International, Inc. (DFI), global developer and exclusive supplier of the Diamon-Fusion® hydrophobic nanotechnology, signed a license agreement with CORPORACION MIYASATO, Peru’s largest manufacturer of building products (including aluminum, architectural and automotive glass products) and one of the most reputable glass suppliers in South America. DFI’s nanocoating provides LM-Glass (low maintenance glass) and a full range of enhanced hydrophobic properties to the treated glass surface.

CORPORACION MIYASATO, a 65-year industrial group based in Lima , Peru , with distribution centers throughout Peru and a business network throughout South America , is formed by several divisions, all having a predominant presence in the Peruvian building industry: Vidrieria Miyasato, Division LAMITEMP, Division Aluminios and Division EXAL Miyasato.

Enrique Miyasato Onaga, Managing Director of CORPORACION MIYASATO, stated: “As a leader in the architectural and automotive glass markets, our vision has been, for more than 65 years, to seek out innovative solutions for our broad customer base, thus we have decided to invest in DFI’s nanotechnology which will provide a greater added value to our glass products by facilitating low maintenance properties that no other product can offer in such an efficient and safe manner.”

Guillermo Seta, Executive Director of DFI Global Operations, reported: "The licensing of Miyasato in Peru responds to our recent efforts implemented in South America to expand our nanotechnology on a global basis with key business partners in selected market segments and regions.”

DFI’s nanotechnology multi-functional characteristics include: water and oil repellency (hydrophobic and oleophobic), impact and scratch resistance, protection against graffiti, dirt and stains, finger print protection, UV stability, additional electrical insulation, protection against calcium and sodium deposits and increased brilliance and lubricity. DFI’s coating, a patented process, works at nanoscale levels and the change of the molecular composition of the silica-based surface (glass) created by DFI’s chemistry and bonding nanoparticles, along with the cross-linking, branching, and final ‘capping’, enables the full efficiency of the coating process at an atomic scale. The nanoscale is about a thousand times smaller than micro, that is, about 1/80,000 of the diameter of a human hair.
