DFI Announces New ‘RPM’ Complete Surface System

SAN CLEMENTE – (BUSINESS WIRE) —October 2004- Diamon-Fusion International, Inc. (DFI),, global developer and exclusive supplier of the Diamon-Fusion® hydrophobic nanotechnology, recently introduced its new RPM Surface System, a Restoration-Protection-Maintenance system that allows any licensed glass fabricator or glazing contractor to service a wide range of new markets that have been created with these innovative products.

The RPM Surface System offers a complete range of products, both safe and friendly to the environment, to restore an existing surface, then protect it by applying DFI’s patented hydrophobic nanocoating and maintain it for years or lifetime of the glass. DFI’s RPM System provides a Professional Restoration Kit for licensed professional companies to service the existing (already installed) glass markets and a consumer-friendly Maintenance Kit.

DFI’s nanocoating provides LM-Glass (low maintenance glass) and a full range of enhanced hydrophobic properties to the treated glass surface. Additionally, the reduced accumulation of moisture on the glass (created by the water repellency of Diamon-Fusion®) provides an anti-microbial property by inhibiting or decreasing the growth of mold and bacteria on the treated surface, creating a healthier environment to live in.

"The RPM System reflects DFI’s core strength as a science-based company by transforming innovative ideas into practical every-day use at the end consumer’s level; this complete system also creates a much larger market for DFI licensees, thus increasing their potential profit”, reported DFI’s President & CEO Adam Zax.

DFI’s nanotechnology multi-functional characteristics include: water and oil repellency (hydrophobic and oleophobic), impact and scratch resistance, protection against graffiti, dirt and stains, finger print protection, UV stability, additional electrical insulation, protection against calcium and sodium deposits and increased brilliance and lubricity. DFI’s nanocoating, a patented process, works at nanoscale levels to change the molecular composition of any silica-based surface. Diamon-Fusion® provides a cross-linked, branched, and ‘capped’ coating along with a strong and durable covalent bond.(1)

(1) A covalent bond means that the coating shares the electrons within the glass itself, thus becoming a part of the glass. Covalent Bonds are approximately 10 times stronger than hydrogen-bridge bonds, which are commonly present in most other water-repellent coatings.
