History
History
The innovations and growth of the Diamon-Fusion® hydrophobic nanotechnology
have occurred in various developmental stages.
Since its early beginnings of R&D in the
late 1980's, DFI's
innovative scientific inventions in the field of hydrophobicity have set the standard
that the industry is still trying to catch.
DFI's technology took central stage in
1996 when our unique chemical
vapor process was named
"Innovative
Product of the Year" by the prestigious
Kitchen and Bath Business
magazine.
In 1997, Diamon-Fusion International was incorporated in the State
of California, establishing itself as a global developer and exclusive supplier
of all intellectual property and equipment relating to the Diamon-Fusion® technology.
In the year 2001, DFI was issued a patent by The United States
Patent and Trademark Office. The issuance of the patent truly reflects the unique
properties of DFI’s technology and clearly sets us apart from any other surface-protective
coating.
Prior to 2002, DFI had been primarily focused on marketing the Vapor Depositions
Method of applying Diamon-Fusion® throughout the world. In 2002,
DFI expanded its offering launching the Restore, Protect, Maintain product series
which included DFI Restoration Powder and DFI Revitalizer. Since that introduction,
other new products have been added, such as the Consumer Maintenance Kit and Glass
Rescue™.
In 2004, DFI introduced its first Hand-Applied Diamon-Fusion®
product, dramatically improving the ease of application on already-installed surfaces.
In 2005, that a new Hand-Applied formula was introduced reducing
required labor by 33% and making it very friendly to surrounding surfaces that might
be exposed to the solution. DFI raised the bar for ease-of-application again
in 2008 when it introduced the new NanoPax® form-factor. In 2009,
these preportioned, easy-to-use, easy-to-inventory NanoPax® were awarded Glass
Magazine’s “Crystal Achievement Award for the Most Innovative Protective
Glazing Product of the Year”. In that same year, DFI launched
its first protective coating that did not fall under the patent granted in 2001.
Clear-Fusion™V is the best combination of price and quality available for
the Do-It-Yourselfer.
During these years of product innovation, DFI was also active in marketing its products
worldwide - working with such recognized companies as DuPont, Moen and Alcoa, as
well as hundreds of others from New York to California and Italy to Korea.
Today, under its Global Marketing Strategy, DFI has become one
the world's leaders in surface-protective coatings, building strategic alliances
around the world with experienced and well established companies of various market
segments. These business relations have been built with the premise of understanding
a new
globalized world: recognizing the multicultural aspect and diversity
of regional economies, under DFI's core value of cooperation.
